Hey guys. I'm gonna do a Valentine's Day special issue, and I think I'm gonna do specials issues for special occasions. So, yeah, basically that's that. Hope y'all like it! :]
P/S Although the regular magazine is "published" monthly, ZineZone will come up with occasional special issues according to the occasion.

Valentine's Day: Love's in the air!
Valentine's Day was yesterday, on Thursday, February 14. Guys were handing over bouquets of flowers and heart-shaped candy, girls had huuuuuge grins pasted on their faces from being showered and pampered with the attention her boyfriend was giving her, and, well, Cupid was having his busiest day ever! Most of us think that valentine's day is only about spending more time with your sweetheart or letting your crush know that you're so into him/her, but do you actually know how this romantic occasion came about? Well, I'm clueless too, that's why I did some research, and here's what I found out:(adapted from www.wikipedia.org)
Valentine's Day, or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on 14 February. In North America and Europe, it is a traditional day where sweethearts express their romantic interest(or love) for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers or offering candy. This holiday is named after two Christian matyrs named Valentine.(I wonder what would have happened if they were named 'Hayte' or 'Kiel'?) The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages when the tradition of courtly love flourished.(I assume that sweet whispers were rarely communicated before then.) A few of the valentine symbols includes red roses(what a pity, I like roses to be white), love knots and lovebirds.
I also went to google to look up some love poems and limericks. Here are a few cute ones:(adapted from http://www.brownielocks.com/valentinepoems.html)
He sent his love a Valentine,His love did not reply,We never dare to care to sign,These things I wonder why. By: David McCord.
Plenty of love, Tons of kisses, Hope some day, to be your Mrs. By: Unknown
Valentines are stupid. Valentines are dumb. So why do we get so upset, if no one sends us one? (Hint!) By: Brownielocks
If you won't be my Valentine, Then give this back to me. I believe in recycling, so help save a tree. By: Brownielocks
I'm not psychic, But I've got a hunch, How would you like a Valentine lunch? By: Brownielocks
Here's a recipe that maybe you would like to try out. Hope it'll be a success! (From: http://www.recipezaar.com/286247)
Ingredients
Cupcakes:
1 1/4 cups
sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 medium eggs
2 1/3 cups self raising flour (cake flour)
6-9 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon
baking powder
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk , mixed with
1 teaspoon
vinegar
2 tablespoons red food coloring
1 teaspoon
vinegar
Filling:
300 ml whipped cream or
500 ml cream
to taste
icing sugar (optional) or cocoa (optional) or candy sprinkles (optional)
Directions:
1)Preheat the oven to 180 c / 350°F.
2)In a large bowl, beat the sugar, margarine & eggs until creamy. Add the food colouring, milk mixed with vinegar + the other tsp of vinegar & set aside.
3)Into another bowl, sift the dry ingredients.
4)Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry, mixing very well to incorporate.
5)Line bun / cupcake trays with paper cases & carefully fill 1/2 - 3/4 way full. Place in oven.
6)After 14 minutes, turn the tray around then continue cooking for 4 minutes. Check they're done with a toothpick & allow to cool on thge side.
7)Once cooled, cut a circular piece out of the top. Fill the hole with whipped or squirty cream. Take the circular piece & cut in half - place on top of the cream to look like a kiss!
Hope you guys enjoyed this love-filled issue! Happy Valentine's Day!
